Though it seems like harvest time is just now beginning in the Pacific Northwest with tomatoes finally ripening on the vine (if you planted starts by Mother’s Day), canning season at all the stores is almost over. The only place left with any canning gear or jars is Sunbird in Yelm and Centralia. They keep the absolute best supply of canning equipment and jars in the entire county. Right now they are out of wide-mouth pint jars, but they still have quarts, small-mouth pints, and pint and a half jars. They also have dehydrators, food mills and pressure canners.
If you are into deer hunting, Sunbird in Yelm has a really good selection of meat grinders and other food storage accessories. They are also the place to go for your hunting and fishing license. As winter approaches, Sunbird’s is well stocked in cold weather boots and jackets for adults and kids. They have better prices and in many cases bigger choices than Cabella’s in hunting, fishing, and camping equipment.
I enjoy shopping there because they are locally owned and you still get the small town service. They even give out free popcorn for the kids at the register.

"Cari helped us find our ideal home in Olympia in 2013. It took almost 6 months but she was very patient, helpful and insightful. 6 months! That was a lot of properties to drive to and see, a lot of houses in many different conditions. Cari never pushed a sale. She would just stand back and let us see things for ourselves, while being always there to answer questions or get answers for us. That, by itself, is invaluable help.
Now, in 2015, we were ready to sell and she helped us sell our house in record time. That meant the price she suggested was right on and the logistics she did (description, listing, flyers, marketing) superb. She also handled all the negotiations and other issues that arose, greatly reducing our stress levels. All the while, she was very professional and maintained her wonderful sense of humor through all the fray. She promised, she delivered, and we're very grateful"
