The National Association of Realtors says that the average search for a home takes around 12 weeks. From experience as a professional real estate broker, I know that many of my clients have been able to search for the perfect home using different techniques. Buying a home can be a very emotional experience, and can be overwhelming when looking at all the online options and prices. Get pre-qualified --that way you know what your limits are and how they fit with the goals of location, size, and price --and you reduce the chance that you will miss out on offering on a home while waiting to see if you can qualify to purchase a home. The tip is to decide on the location & size within your budget. If you are not sure about the neighborhood --drive by the home before scheduling a showing with your broker to avoid wasting time looking at homes in areas that you would not consider purchasing in. There is a benefit to working with a buyer's agent, even with all the online information available. A buyer's agent can help you narrow down your search and will have access to broker only information on the MLS that you would not otherwise see. A buyer's agent can show you any home listed on the MLS, works only for you, and normally there is no cost associated as the selling broker pays the buyer's agent.

"Cari helped us find our ideal home in Olympia in 2013. It took almost 6 months but she was very patient, helpful and insightful. 6 months! That was a lot of properties to drive to and see, a lot of houses in many different conditions. Cari never pushed a sale. She would just stand back and let us see things for ourselves, while being always there to answer questions or get answers for us. That, by itself, is invaluable help.
Now, in 2015, we were ready to sell and she helped us sell our house in record time. That meant the price she suggested was right on and the logistics she did (description, listing, flyers, marketing) superb. She also handled all the negotiations and other issues that arose, greatly reducing our stress levels. All the while, she was very professional and maintained her wonderful sense of humor through all the fray. She promised, she delivered, and we're very grateful"
